HSCC Police Constable 2024 Criteria for Selection & Examination

(a) Qualifying Tests:

  • The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will invite a sufficient number of candidates based on their merit in the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and then for the Physical Screening Test (PST). Both tests are qualifying in nature. HSSC may conduct these tests in batches to shortlist candidates equal to four times the number of advertised posts in each category for the Knowledge Test.

(b) Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

  1. Candidates must undergo the Physical Measurement Test as per the standards specified in Appendix-B of the Haryana Police (Non-Gazetted and Other Ranks) Service Rules, 2017, as amended.
  2. To ensure a tamper-proof, fair, and impartial process, standard digital measurement devices will be used, allowing candidates to see their measurements on a digital display monitor.
  3. The results of the PMT will be prepared by HSSC and displayed on its official website.
  4. Candidates who do not meet the prescribed standards for the PMT will be eliminated from the selection process.
  5. Only candidates who meet the PMT standards will proceed to the next stage of the selection process.

(c) Syllabus for Knowledge Test (94.5 Marks):

  • The Knowledge Test will include questions on General Studies, General Science, Current Affairs, General Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and other relevant fields/trades. At least 10% of the questions will cover basic computer knowledge, and at least 20% will focus on basic knowledge about Haryana. The difficulty level of the questions will be suitable for a candidate who has passed the 10+2 examination for the post of Constable.

(d) Pattern of Examination:

  • All questions in the Knowledge Test will be compulsory. The question paper will be bilingual, available in both English and Hindi. The test will be conducted offline using OMR sheets. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam will consist of 100 questions, each worth 0.945 marks. Candidates must select one option out of five for each question. An additional five minutes will be given to mark the fifth option if the candidate does not know the answer. The total time for the exam will be 105 minutes, including the extra five minutes. If a candidate leaves a question unanswered without marking any of the five options, 0.945 marks will be deducted for each unattempted question.
