Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have completed or be currently pursuing a BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/B.Arch/B.Sc. Research/M.Sc./MA/MCA/ME/M.Tech/Dual Degree/Integrated Course.

• Upload a recent, high-quality passport-size color photo with a white background.
• Ensure that your face occupies at least 75% of the photo.

Thumb Impression and Signature Instructions:

• On an A4-size paper, draw a rectangular box measuring 3 cm x 5 cm and place your left thumb impression within the drawn box.
• On the same A4-size paper, draw a rectangular box measuring 2 cm x 7 cm, and sign within the box using a black or blue pen in a running hand.

How to Apply for GATE 2025:

1. Registration:

   • Visit the official GATE 2025 website (typically gate.iitkgp.ac.in or the respective IIT conducting GATE that year).
   • Register by providing a valid email address, mobile number, and other required details. After registration, you will receive an enrollment ID and password.

2. Filling the Application Form:

   • Log in to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) using your enrollment ID and password.
   • Carefully fill out the application form, including personal details, academic qualifications, choice of GATE paper (subject), and exam center preference.

3. Upload Documents:

   • Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph (in JPEG format) and signature (in JPEG format) as per the specifications mentioned on the website. Ensure that both are clear and meet the specified dimensions and file size requirements.

4. Fee Payment:

   • Pay the application fee online (using debit card, credit card, or net banking) or offline (via challan payment at designated banks). The fee varies by category (General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD) and gender.

5. Preview and Submit:

   • Before submitting, review all details entered in the application form to ensure there are no errors or discrepancies. Once satisfied, submit the application form.

6. Print Application Form:

   • After successful submission, download and print a copy of the completed application form for your records. This may be needed for future correspondence or during the admission process.

7. Admit Card:

   • Download the GATE 2025 Admit Card from the GOAPS portal during the specified dates. The admit card will include details such as exam date, time, venue, and instructions.

8. Appear for the Exam:

   • On the exam day, bring a printout of your admit card along with a valid photo ID proof (such as Aadhaar card, passport, or driving license) to the exam center.

9. Result and Scorecard:

   • After the exam, check the GATE 2025 results and scorecards on the official website. Download your scorecard and keep it safe for future admission processes.
