Informations : The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the results and cutoff marks for the recruitment of 40,247 Head Teacher positions under Bihar's Education Department. The written exams were held on September 28-29, 2024, at designated centers. Qualified candidates can access their results on the official BPSC website, bpsc.bih.nic.in, starting from November 1, 2024.

Exam Scheme and Syllabus

Scheme of Examination

The WBPSC Clerkship examination consists of two parts: Part-I (Objective Type) and Part-II (Conventional Type - Written).

  • Part-I Examination: This section is objective-based, carrying 100 marks, with 100 multiple-choice questions. Topics include English (30 marks), General Studies (40 marks), and Arithmetic (30 marks). The exam duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  • Part-II Examination: This section contains descriptive questions split into two groups:

    • Group A: English (50 marks)
    • Group B: Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali/ Santali (50 marks)

    Candidates have 1 hour to complete Part-II.

Additionally, a basic computer operation and typing test will be conducted for candidates who qualify in both parts.

Syllabus

  • Part I:

    • English: Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and correct usage.
    • General Studies: General knowledge including current events, science, basic Indian history, and geography.
    • Arithmetic: Topics such as divisibility, fractions, decimals, simplification, HCF, LCM, ratios, percentages, simple interest, profit & loss, time & distance, and area calculations.
  • Part II:

    • Group A (English):
      • Drafting reports based on provided information
      • Writing summaries/precis
      • Translating from Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali/ Santali to English
    • Group B (Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali/ Santali):
      • Drafting reports based on provided information
      • Writing summaries/precis
      • Translating from English into the chosen language

Note: The examination level will be equivalent to the Madhyamik standard of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
